Where NOT to Stay in Copenhagen?
If it’s your first time visiting, I recommend avoiding staying too far outside the city, unless you’re on a really tight budget.
I would recommend staying in Indre By or Vesterbro if it’s your first time visiting Copenhagen.
Although Copenhagen’s transport system is perfect, staying far from the city center means you don’t fully get to experience the full vibe of Copenhagen during the day and night, and you waste time on getting into the city from outside neighborhoods.
Though if it isn’t your first time visiting Copenhagen, and want to experience a more local experience, staying in Nørrebro would definitely give you that fun local vibe of the city.
How to Choose the BEST Area for Your Trip?
Choosing where to stay in Copenhagen really depends on your travel goals and interests.
Here’s a quick neighborhoods & travel style overview to help you decide:
- First time in Copenhagen, city center → Indre By
- Great nightlife, restaurants & bars → Vesterbro
- Local vibe + budget accommodation→ Nørrebro
- A unique stay experience → Christianshavn

That’s it for today! I hope you got an idea of where to stay in Copenhagen, and found some nice Copenhagen hotels to stay at!
