According to several reports, in 2025 France is the most visited country in the world. With a record of being the most visited country in the world for over 30 years now.
The country has rich culture, iconic landmarks, and the perfect combination of different landscapes from iconic cities like Paris and Lyon, to the beautiful beaches of the French Riviera, and fairytale towns like Strasbourg, Colmar, and more.
ICONIC Cities:
1. Paris, France
Paris is definitely one of the most iconic cities in the world! It’s definitely the perfect city for art lovers, fashion lovers, history lovers, and delicious food.
This romantic city is the perfect destination for couples and lovers of French culture who want to savor coffee at the stunning cafes in the city, stroll along the beautiful streets of Paris, and visit iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, the Louvre Museum, and more.
2. London, England
You can’t go wrong with a fun trip to London! It’s the perfect mix of history, fashion, and fun young energy.
From visiting the Buckingham Palace, exploring the London Tower, and checking out the views from the London Eye, to visiting some iconic neighborhoods like Notting Hill, and the famous Camden Market, there is so much to do in London whether it’s your first or fifth time visiting! 😉

Italy is definitely one of the must-visit countries you can’t skip! And specifically, Rome is one of the more unique cities in Italy.
I honestly think that Rome is basically a living museum. You walk around the beautiful streets of the city, and just feel like you are in a living museum.
From the iconic Colosseum, which is also one of the new 7 Wonders of the World, to visiting iconic landmarks like the Spanish Steps, the Vatican City, or the famous Trevi Fountain, to eating delicious pasta and Italian food.
Rome is the perfect European experience city, combining delicious food, beautiful streets, and interesting landmarks.

Barcelona is a beautiful, colorful, and artistic city.
From the AMAZING Gaudi’s architectural creations like Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, to shopping around the iconic streets of Barcelona, to visiting beautiful golden beaches and enjoying fun nightlife in the city, Barcelona makes a perfect destination for travelers of all ages!
5. Amsterdam, Netherlands
Amsterdam is definitely one of my favorite cities in the world. From the beautiful architecture, and the beautiful streets and buildings that feel like you’re in a painting, to the beautiful canals, bicycle riding scene, and the fun vibes in the city.
In Amsterdam, you can enjoy unique experiences like a boat tour through the famous canals, go on fun day trips outside the city, visit famous museums like the Van Gogh Museum or the must-visit Anne Frank House, relax at the city’s beautiful parks, and enjoy the full experience of a visit to Amsterdam.
6. New York City, USA
New York City has a huge place in my heart!
I feel like you either love this city or you don’t, but in any case, it’s a must-visit!
I know NYC like I know myself, and I can tell you that it is packed with iconic sights, beautiful neighborhoods, and there’s so much to do, no matter if it’s your first ot 10th time in the city!
My favorite places in NYC are definitely Central Park, The High Line Park, the Edge viewpoint, and I just love getting lost in the city, wandering through the beautiful and iconic streets of Manhatten.
New York City is definitely a place you can visit again and again, and still discover new places each time!
7. Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo has another huge part of my heart, because it’s honestly one of the most unique cities in the world, in my opinion.
It combines futuristic living with authentic and traditional places and activities you can visit. You can spend one day exploring the new and futuristic activities and streets of Shibuya and Akihabara, and the next day visit beautiful temples around the city, and even do a traditional tea house experience.
Plus, we can’t ignore the fact that Japan, in general, has the BEST FOOD EVER! When I was there, we ate delicious sushi and ramen EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
8. Seoul, South Korea
Seoul is a city that is high on my bucket list, and as of writing this I am planning on visiting within a few months!
It’s another beautiful Asian city that combines modern life and skyscrapers with historic landmarks and palaces.
You can spend your time in Seoul visiting the Gyeongbokgung Palace, shopping in Myeongdong, or exploring the trendy cafés of Hongdae.
You CAN’T skip Korean BBQ, and tasting delicious street food! Plus, I’ve heard that the nightlife in Seoul are INSANE (in the best way possible).
9. Sydney, Australia
Sydney is famous for its sunny lifestyle!
From visiting the iconic Sydney Opera House, which is definitely one of Australia’s symbols, to climbing the Harbour Bridge, and visiting the iconic Bondi Beach.
Sydney is the perfect mix of a fun, energetic city, combined with laid-back beach town vibes.
10. Dubai, UAE
I couldn’t not include Dubai in this section of iconic cities that are part of the TOP 50 travel destinations in the world!
Dubai is such a futuristic city, and combined with its desert tradition and culture, it makes an interesting city to visit!
I loved everything in Dubai. From the beautiful beaches, to the futuristic buildings like the Burj Khalifa (which is the tallest building in the world), to delicious international food, and traditional activities, you can experience everything and anything you want in Dubai.
Tropical Escapes:
11. Bali, Indonesia
I am sure you’ve heard about Bali, Indonesia, as one of the perfect tropical destinations to visit! And it truly is.
Bali is famous for its beautiful beaches, breathtaking views, rich culture, and beautiful temples.
Bali offers something for every traveler, whether you love surfing, snorkeling, exploring nature and beautiful waterfalls, if you’re interested in the local culture and temples, or even if you just want to chill and enjoy your time at the beach.
Bali also became a popular destination for travelers seeking retreats, delicious food, and affordable (yet spoiling) accommodation and prices.
12. Koh Tao, Thailand
Koh Tao is one of my favorite islands, if not my favorite island, in Thailand.
First of all, it’s a paradise for snorkeling lovers.
The island’s beaches have crystal-clear water and are home to beautiful coral reefs, tropical fish, and sea-life animals like whale sharks.
But even if you’re not into scuba-diving or snorkeling, you are going to LOVE the breath-taking views and beaches the island has to offer, the laid-back beach bars, the beautiful viewpoints that are perfect for watching the amazing sunsets, and just take a break from busy life and enjoy the chill vibes of the island.
13. Palawan, Philippines
Palawan is known for being one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines, and especially on Earth.
In Palawan, you can find turquoise lagoons, beautiful cliffs, hidden beaches, and breathtaking views.
El Nido and Coron are must-visit destinations, and you can enjoy the beautiful snorkeling and kayaking scene the island has to offer.
14. Maldives
Honestly, I feel like the Maldives are pretty overrated these days.
Though it is a beautiful country, with amazing beaches and breathtaking views, I feel like there are so many other similar and more unique destinations to visit.
But still, the Maldives are definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime getaway, booking an iconic overwater bungalow, waking up to a breathtaking ocean view, surrounded by crystal-clear water, and ending the day with amazing sunset views.
15. Whitsunday Island, Australia
Whitsunday Islands are basically 74 tropical islands with paradise looking beaches.
The most famous beach in this area is Whitehaven Beach, which was ranked among the world’s most beautiful beaches.
You can take sailing trips around the islands, and enjoy the breathtaking views the islands has to offer.
16. Fiji Islands
Fiji Islands are mostly included in a trip to Australia, if you are not from that part of the world.
But Fiji is one of the most welcoming and beautiful countries in the world.
There are more than 300 islands in the country, and you can choose between different types of vacations – whether you are going for a luxury resort vacation, a cultural experience of visiting remote villages to experience the Fijian culture, or an adventure around the islands that includes snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking through rainforests, or even joining a traditional Kava ceremony.

Mauritius is another island that makes you feel like you’re in paradise. It is influenced by African, Indian, and European cultures, making it not only a breathtaking place to visit and see, but also culturally rich.
You can find the most beautiful beaches you’ll ever see, as well as explore the beautiful waterfalls, luch mountains, and stunning views you can see from the island.
Mauritius is the perfect vacation destination for those who want both to relax and enjoy Earth’s amazing nature and beautiful views.
19. Zanzibar, Tanzania
Zanzibar is Tanzania’s paradise gem! Zanzibar is the perfect combination of breathtaking views and beaches, with fascinating history. Its beaches are breathtaking, but Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers winding alleys, spice markets, and rich Swahili culture.

20. Kyoto, Japan
As of writing this, Kyoto is definitely my favorite city in Japan.
It’s the cultural heart of Japan, and is one of the most unique cities I’ve been to around the world.
In Kyoto, you can find beautiful temples, beautiful, authentic streets and architecture, peaceful tea houses, and so much more.
This city really gives you the full Japanese experience, and in some areas you feel like you are going back in time, visiting “the real” Japan.
Also, visiting Kyoto during autumn or during Cherry Blossom Season is an unforgettable experience!
21. Hoi An, Vietnam
Hoi An is one of my favorite cities in Vietnam. I visited in 2024 and had the best time ever.
Hoi An is known for its amazing lantern-lit streets, historic architecture, and the rich blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and French influences that make this city extremely unique.
I loved exploring its old town. You can either do it by foot or by bicycle, and enjoy the beautiful, colorful markets, check out the tailor-made clothing shops, and my best recommendation – join different classes!
We took an amazing Vietnamese cooking class that was so much fun, we made delicious food, and enjoyed every minute of it.
We also took a painting class in Hoi An which was so special and relaxing.
22. Jeonju-Si, South Korea
Jeonju is often considered the food capital of Korea and is deeply rooted in the Korean tradition.
If you are looking for an authentic Korean experience, you can enjoy the Hanok Village in Jeonju, which offers a glimpse into the country’s cultural heritage.
You can dress in hanbok, enjoy local craft workshops, and explore centuries-old temples alongside vibrant modern art spaces.
23. The Golden Triangle, India
India’s Golden Triangle includes Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur.
The three are cultural hotspots packed with history, architecture, and interesting traditions.
From the famous Taj Mahal, to the beautiful palaces of Jaipur, and the busy bazaars of Delhi, you can learn so much about the Indian culture by visiting these places, and this Golden Triangle route is the perfect introduction for first-time travelers to Indian.
24. Beijing, China
Taiwan is definitely an underrated country that is definitely worth visiting until everyone and their mother discovers it 😉
Tainan, in general, is Taiwan’s oldest city, and is known for its beautiful temples, traditional markets, and delicious street food you can’t miss out on.
It was once Taiwan’s capital city, and is filled with cultural landmarks like the Confucius Temple, the Chihkan Tower, awesome night markets and interesting festivals, it is truly a cultural gem!
25. Tainan, Taiwan
As of writing this, Kyoto is definitely my favorite city in Japan.
It’s the cultural heart of Japan, and is one of the most unique cities I’ve been to around the world.
In Kyoto, you can find beautiful temples, beautiful, authentic streets and architecture, peaceful tea houses, and so much more.
This city really gives you the full Japanese experience, and in some areas you feel like you are going back in time, visiting “the real” Japan.
Also, visiting Kyoto during autumn or during Cherry Blossom Season is an unforgettable experience!
26. Marrakech, Morocco
Moving on to a different continent, Marrakech is a must-visit city in Morocco if you’re interested in authentic, interesting cultures and want to experience some what of “cultural shock” (which is my favorite thing about traveling lol).
Marrakech offers beautiful historic palaces, vibrant souks, delicious food, and interesting activities.
The busy Jemaa el-Fnaa square comes alive with street performers, food stalls, and musicians, offering a sensory overload that captures the essence of Moroccan culture.
27. Cairo, Egypt
Cairo is a long-time dream of mine, and I hope to visit one day!
Cairo is known for the amazing Pyramids of Giza, which definitely feels like a once-in-a-lifetime experience to visit.
There is so much to do in Cairo and around the city, interesting day trips, and if you are interested in rich cultures and authentic experiences, I’d definitely add Cairo to your bucket list.
28. The Omo Valley, Ethiopia
If you are deeply interested in unique cultures and experiences around the globe, the Omo Valley in Ethiopia is a must-visit for you!
First of all, Ethiopia is one of the most interesting countries in the world, in my opinion, and the Omo Valley is home to numerous indigenous tribes with unique customs, traditions, and ways of life.
Visiting the Omo Valley is a rare chance to visit remote tribes and witness living culture, from body painting rituals to experiencing cultural ceremonies and experiences.
By visiting Ethiopia, you can understand human diversity and cultural resilience.
29. Antigua, Guatemala
Antigua is one of the most interesting and beautiful cities in Central America, in my opinion!
Set against a backdrop of impressive and beautiful volcanoes, Antigua actually feels like a city frozen in time.
From the cobblestone streets, colorful facades, baroque churches, and beautiful cultural markets, it’s a must-visit place.
The coffee culture lives strong in the city, and there are so many delicious restaurants and coffee shops to try out.
30. Machu Picchu, Peru
I couldn’t not include Machu Picchu, Peru, in this post. Machu Picchu is not just a world wonder, but an actual cultural gem of the Inca civilization.
Whether you arrive via the Inca Trail or by train, visiting Machu Picchu should be high on your bucket list!
Adventure & Nature:
31. Iceland
The land of fire and ice, the land of volcanoes, glaciers, and waterfalls.
If you’re looking for an adventurous escape, Iceland is the perfect destination to consider.
From the famous Blue Lagoon to the Gullfoss waterfall and the black sand beaches of Vik, every corner in this country is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Also, don’t forget to chase the Northern Lights in the winter, or enjoy endless daylight during the summer!
32. The Dolimites, Italy
I think the Dolomites are one of the prettiest areas in Italy!
It’s a dream destination for hikers and nature lovers, packed with beautiful mountains, breathtaking views, alpine lakes, and beautiful mountain villages.
In the summer, the Dolimites are a perfect destination to explore the beautiful nature and see breathtaking views, while winter transforms the Dolomites into a skiing paradise for ski lovers.

The Galápagos Islands in Ecuador are the ultimate adventure in na ature destination to consider.

The most famous national parks are the Banff National Park and Jasper National Park, both showcasing iconic places like Lake Louise and the Icefield Parkway.

There are over 300 miles of hiking trails, and you can explore everything from wildflower meadows to snow-capped summits!

Another must-visit place in Australia is The Overland Track.
It’s one of the world’s best multi-day hikes, as the Overland Track goes through glacial valleys, alpine plateaus, and ancient rainforests.
It’s a 40-mile trek that is quite challenging, but definitely rewarding for serious hikers!
39. Blue Mountains National Park, New South Wales
Outside of Sydney, you can find the Blue Mountains National Park, which is famous for its beautiful cliffs, eucalyptus forests, and amazing waterfalls.
At this national park, you can find the iconic Three Sisters rock formation, but beyond the viewpoints, you can hike and, canyon, and explore the hidden caves and beautiful cliffs.
This is definitely one of Australia’s best nature escapes.

Moving on to New Zealand, which is the ultimate destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers!
Queenstown in general is the adventure capital of the world, and offers everything from extreme activities like bungee jumping and skydiving to hiking and skiing.
Queenstown is surrounded by the Southern Alps, and has so many amazing nature activities you are guaranteed to enjoy.

41. The Azores, Portugal
The Azores are Portugal’s secret paradise.
They are a group of volcanic islands that are a haven for nature lovers, filled with beautiful emerald-green lakes, dramatic coastlines, and hot springs.
The Azores are perfect for hiking, whale watching, breathtaking views, and are a perfect escape into untouched nature.
42. Albania
Albania is a hidden gem full of surprises, which hasn’t been discovered by worldwide tourists! (as for writing this at least ;))
People call it “Europe’s Thailand”, and some of the beaches in Albania can definitely show that!
The country offers both natural and cultural gems, from beautiful mountain towns and villages, breathtaking views in the north, beautiful beaches in the south, affordable travel and warm hospitatlity.

Lapland is a winter wonderland that feels like you are living Santa’s life!
It just feels straight out of a fairytale.
It’s the ultimate destination for beautiful Northern Lights chasing, and includes unique experiences like reindeer sleigh rides, cozy glass igloos, unique accommodations, and just makes an unforgettable off-the-beaten-path escape.

Bhutan is a truly hidden gem. And although it isn’t hidden, because it is a country most of us know about, it is one of the world’s most exclusive travel destinations!
First of all, my favorite thing about Bhutan is its focus on Gross National Happiness of its citizens, which is amazing to see.
But other than happiness, Bhutan is an interesting country that offers a rate cultural experience rooted in tradition and spirituality.
You can hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, explore beautiful valleys, and explore the interesting culture of Bhutan.
It isn’t easy to visit, and because it is so exclusive it is a very expensive experience to do, but it’s definitely worth it!
47. Madagascar
Madagascar is a less touristy destination unlike other African islands like the Seychelles or Zanzibar.
You can find amazing wildlife and breathtaking views and landscapes you can’t find anywhere else on Earth.
From unique nature like the Allee des Baobabs national forest, to beautiful national parks and breathtaking views and beaches, there is so much to do in Madagascar if you are looking for a unique adventure, and interested in visiting a truly hidden gem on Earth.
48. Zambia
Zambia is one of Africa’s best-kept safari destinations!
It is often overshadowed by its neighbors, but Zambia is a must-visit destination for safari lovers.
You can find the famous Victoria Falls, and some of the continent’s most beautiful and untouched national parks, where you can enjoy rich wildlife encounters without the crowds.

49. Semuc Champey, Guatemala

Semuc Champey is off the beaten path of tourists, and getting there does require effort, but it’s truly a paradise worth visiting, and swimming in some of the most beautiful natural pools in Central America is definitely rewarding!
50. Isla Holbox, Mexico
Last but not least for this post is Isla Holbox.
It’s far less touristy than Cancun or Tulum, and wasn’t discovered yet by ALL tourists.
Isla Holbox is the perfect laid-back island to spend your days at beautiful white-sanded beaches, walk around sandy streets, see colorful murals, and enjoy a bohemian vibe around the island.
You can explore the beautiful beaches the island ahs to offer, get a chance to swim with whale sharks, and is a peaceful, chill place to spend your time at.
Golf carts replace cars here, making it the perfect place to slow down and disconnect.
