What's the most romantic thing to do in Paris?

If I need to choose one, the most romantic thing to do in Paris in my opinion is going on a Seine river dinner cruise at night.

Going on a cruise is already a romantic experience, but doing it at night is even more romantic when you cruise around the Seine river and see the “city of light” in full effect, passing under historic beautiful bridges while sipping champagne or eating delicious local food.

Also, if there’s a huge pro of joining this cruise at night, is that most 8:30pm cruises are perfectly positioned to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle from the water, which is a super romantic perspective you can’t see from the shore.

romantic things to do in Paris:

1. Have Breakfast at a Small Paris Café

best things to do in paris

One of the most romantic things to do in Paris is actually very simple – start your mornings at a beautiful small outdoor café and enjoy a slow breakfast!

Order coffee, croissants, and just watch the city wake up around you.

Paris cafes are perfect for couples because they make you slow down and enjoy the moment instead of rushing from place to place.

2. Have a Picnic Near the Eiffel Tower

If you are visiting during the spring or summer, and the weather is nice, go to a local grocery store or bakery and buy some fruits, cheeses, maybe a baguette and some wine, and have a picnic near the Eiffel Tower!

Sit in the Champs de Mars for a full view of the Eiffel Tower, or even find a spot by the Seine with an Eiffel Tower view, and watch the sunset together, eat delicious goods, and stay until the Eiffel Tower lights up for an extra romantic moment.

3. Visit the Louvre & Walk Through the Tuileries Garden

top 10 things to do in paris

What’s more romantic than a world-famous museum visit? Even if you’re not a big museums person, visiting the Louvre Museum together can be surprisingly romantic!

The architecture is beautiful, and walking through the galleries feels calm and romantic compared to the busy streets of Paris.

After you finish, make your way through the Tuileries Garden, which is one of the nicest places in Paris for couples to relax.

I also recommend going up the ferries wheel in Tuileries Garden, especially if you are visiting around sunset time!

4. Take a Seine River Cruise Together

Taking a Seine River Cruise together is definitely one of the most romantic things to do in Paris, especially if you are going during sunset or at night.

First of all, seeing Paris from the water feels peaceful, beautiful, and super romantic! Especially in the evening when the city lights up.

Many cruises pass by the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, the Louvre, and several beautiful bridges, making it a perfect activity for couples.

If you want something extra special, you can book a dinner cruise for a really unforgettable night!

5. Stay in a Hotel with Eiffel Tower View

If it’s your first time visiting Paris or especially if it’s your honeymoon, staying in a hotel with Eiffel Tower view is the most romantic addition to your trip.

It’s definitely an unforgettable experience.

Waking up and seeing the Eiffel Tower from your window feels special, romantic, and truly unreal. Especially if it’s your honeymoon or your first trip to Paris.

6. Walk Along the Seine at Sunset

Moving on to walking along the Seine at sunset, or even if it’s daytime honestly. This is just a relaxing, romantic activity to do together.

During sunset it feels extra special, when the light reflects on the water, the bridges look beautiful, and the whole city has that golden glow that makes Paris feel unreal.

This is one of the best free things to do in Paris, and it’s perfect after a long day of sightseeing.

7. Watch the Eiffel Tower Sparkle at Night

things to do in paris at night

I keep saying that every activity here is the most romantic, but watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night is extra romantic in my opinion!

Every evening, the tower lights up for five minutes at the start of every hour. The whole atmosphere feels magical every single time, no matter how many times you see it.

The best places to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle is at Champs de Mars, at Trocadéro, or along the Seine river banks.

If you are interested in sitting down and watching it, I also recommend bringing a bottle of wine to drink together and just enjoy the moment.

8. Watch the Eiffel Tower from the Seine Bridges at Night

In addition to what I just wrote, if you want a less touristy experience, I recommend watching the Eiffel Tower from the Seine bridges at night.

The views feel quieter, more intimate, and super romantic! It’s a perfect location if you want a peaceful moment together away from the crowds.

9. Join a Food Tasting Tour

If you want to enjoy a fun and different kind of date in Paris, joining a food tour together is such a great idea!

I recommend joining this food tour in Le Marais, where you walk through one of the cutest neighborhoods in Paris while stopping to try different local foods along the way.

During the tour, you visit small local spots, taste things like pastries, cheese, sandwiches, and desserts, and discover places and food you would probably never find on your own!

It’s perfect for couples because you get to walk, talk, eat, and experience Paris together at a slower pace.

This is a great idea for first-time visitors, but also for couples who want something different than just sightseeing.

10. Join a Local Cooking Class

Another unique and different romantic activity to do together is joining a cooking or baking class!

Taking a cooking class where you can learn to make French pastries, bread, or desserts is a great way to both experience the French culture in a more personal way, and also do it TOGETHER.

Many classes are held in small groups with a professional chef, and you actually get to prepare the food yourself.

During the class, you might learn how to make croissants, baguettes, macarons, or traditional French desserts, and of course you get to eat everything at the end.

Cooking classes are especially great for honeymoon trips or first visits to Paris, because you leave not only with photos, but also with new skills and a really unique experience.

11. Visit a Local Market Together

unusual things to do in paris

Paris is known for it’s amazing local markets.  I think visiting a local market is a cute and different experience to do together.

Walk between the stalls, try pastries, buy fruit or cheese, and just enjoy the local vibe at the market.

Oh also, there are many flea markets in Paris during the weekend, so I highly recommend checking what’s happening in the city when you are visiting.

It’s a simple activity, but isn’t it the little things in life? 🙂

12. Explore Montmartre Together

Montmartre is one of the most romantic neighborhoods in Paris in my opinion.

Featuring beautiful narrow streets, local artists everywhere, small cafes, and amazing views over the city.

Walk up to Sacré Cœur, wander through the quiet streets, and stop for wine or dessert.

The area feels charming and cozy, which makes it perfect for couples.

13. Have a Romantic Dinner in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Another idea for a romantic night in Paris, is to have a romantic diiner in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Saint-Germain is one of the best areas in Paris to spend a romantic evening at.

The beautiful streets are full of small restaurants, local wine bars, and cozy cafes to hang out in.

You don’t need to find a luxury restaurant, even a small bistro can feel incredibly romantic in Paris.

14. Have an Early Evening Dinner at Madame Brasserie in the Eiffel Tower

Last but not least, and definitely an iconic idea, is to have an early evening dinner at Madame Brasserie in the Eiffel Tower.

Madame Brasserie is located inside the Eiffel Tower, and having an early dinner here is one of the most special things couples can do in Paris, especially if it’s your first trip together or a honeymoon.

The restaurant is on the first floor of the tower, which means you get beautiful views over Paris while enjoying dinner in a relaxed and elegant atmosphere.

Booking an early evening time slot is perfect because you can see the city in daylight and then watch it slowly light up as the sun goes down.

After dinner, you can go outside near the tower and stay to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night, which makes the whole experience feel even more romantic.

That’s it for today! I hope you found some romantic things to do in Paris with your other half 💗
